| DC started their pre-season campaign with a hard fought win over newly promoted Southbank Res at Bradfield College. Owen Temple scored the only goal of the game early on after capitalising on some indecision in defence. Steamers played some good football and prevented the opposition from creating much in front of goal although the one decent effort that Southbank had was brilliantly turned behind by our stand-in keeper Jamie. Up the other end, despite getting into some decent positions, DC did not threaten a great deal in front of goal. Their best effort was a diving header from Chris Taylor which the keeper saved. The rebound was put over the bar by the same player. |
