| Up against the newly crowned
champions of the Bracknell 2nd Division, DC knew this was going to be a stern
test. It was the first pre-season friendly and it showed. DC were 5-0 (i
think) down at half time and did not create anything in front of goal. The
Manics did well from the kick off, hassling and closing balls down quickly
putting DC under immense pressure. They burst through from midfield with some
nice touches and racked up the goals The first Steamers corner came midway
through the second half which shows the pressure placed on the Manics defence.
From a positive point of view, DC gave debuts to Dale and Gordon who both did
well on the left wing and up front respectively. It was also a good fitness
exercise and a kick up the arse. The starting line-up was as
follows: Nick Smith; Owen Temple, Howard Cooke, Neil, Chris Taylor,
Richard Jordan, Steve Bell, Richard Scaldwell, Gordon Clark, Jensen Langford,
Dale Seymour
