DC's
first home game of the season ended in defeat after a hard fought game against
Bulmershe Old Boys. The opposition, sitting 3 points clear at the top of the
Division One East, took the lead from a corner as Kevin's mis-clearance hit
Julian and flew into the net. The Steamers plugged away and were awarded an
unjustified penalty as Chris was adjudged to have been taken out by the
keeper. Justice was done as the keeper pulled off a good save to keep
Bulmershe ahead. This lead didn't last long though as Scaldie's brilliantly
flicked header from a corner put the two teams level again. The second half
was a different story. Scaldie went off injured, Steve Danby picked up a
knock, Jensen had to rush off, and DC conceded 3 poor goals. Simon did score a
late consolation goal taking his tally to 14 although it was not enough to
progress in the cup
